The Afterschool Alliance take a closer look at the afterschool program experience of children and families living in communities of concentrated poverty. These are neighborhoods, or grouping of neighborhoods, where there is a high concentration of families living below the poverty line. This is the first time that America After 3PM data has been used to look at high-poverty communities that, according to research, struggle when looking at economic, academic and health indicators.
