The U.S. Department of Education has released its federal application for Promise Neighborhoods – a new program investing in the future of children from birth through college by building a pipeline of social, educational, and health supports in poor communities in urban, suburban, and rural areas across America. The Afterschool Alliance seeks afterschool student artwork for their 2010 Lights on Afterschool poster. The deadline to submit is June 11, 2010. The winning image will be printed on 70,000 posters sent to afterschool programs from coast to coast to use at their Lights on Afterschool celebrations.
